4. Nature of the Service (Please Read)
MentoraMed is an independent online revision aid, self-test simulator, and practice question bank. MentoraMed is not an accredited educational institution, is not a formal or recognised training course, and does not award any qualification, degree, diploma, or certification.
MentoraMed is independent and is not affiliated with, associated with, authorised by, endorsed by, or in any way officially connected with the General Dental Council (GDC), the Royal College of Surgeons (RCS), the NHS, or any UK government or regulatory body. References to "GDC", "ORE", "ORE Part 1", "Paper A", "Paper B", and similar terms are used solely for identification, descriptive, and nominative fair-use purposes to indicate the examination syllabus that the Platform is designed to help you revise for. All trade marks and names belong to their respective owners.
Use of the Platform supplements, and does not replace, professional dental education and preparation. Our full non-affiliation and disclaimer statement forms part of these Terms and is set out separately in our Legal Disclaimer & Non-Affiliation Statement.
5. Account and Eligibility
You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for all activity carried out through your account. Accounts are personal and may not be shared, sold, or transferred, except under a group licence agreed with us in writing. You must provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date. You must notify us promptly at info@mentoramed.com if you know or suspect unauthorised use of your account.
To create an account you must be at least 16 years old. If you are younger, consent from a parent or legal guardian is required. We may suspend or close an account that is used in breach of these Terms.
6. Subscriptions, Trial, Pricing, and Billing
MentoraMed may offer a free trial with limited access. A paid Subscription is required for full access after any trial ends. Current prices and plans are shown on the pricing page and form part of the agreement when you subscribe.
Prices are stated and charged in pounds sterling (GBP, £) and include any applicable VAT or equivalent taxes where chargeable. Payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe; we do not store your full card details on our servers. Access to paid features is granted once payment has been received. You authorise us (through Stripe) to charge the applicable fees to your chosen payment method for the initial term and, for a Monthly Pass, for each renewal until you cancel.
7. Term, Renewal, and Cancellation
A Monthly Pass is entered into for an indefinite period and automatically renews for a further one-month period until you cancel. The applicable amount is charged automatically at each renewal.
A Fixed-term plan runs for its stated period and ends automatically thereafter. It does not renew automatically and does not need to be cancelled.
You may cancel a Monthly Pass at any time, with no notice period, via your account settings (billing portal) or by emailing info@mentoramed.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for; you retain access until then. Amounts already paid are not refunded (in whole or in part) on early cancellation, except as required under the right of withdrawal (section 8) or other mandatory consumer rights.
8. Right of Withdrawal (Statutory Cooling-off)
As a consumer you have the right to withdraw from the agreement within 14 days of entering into it, without giving a reason. You may use the model withdrawal form below or send any other clear statement to info@mentoramed.com.
Because MentoraMed supplies digital content not delivered on a tangible medium, your right of withdrawal lapses only once all of the following conditions are met:
- you have given prior express consent for performance (immediate access) to begin during the 14-day withdrawal period;
- you have acknowledged that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal; and
- MentoraMed has confirmed that consent and acknowledgement to you on a durable medium (for example, by email).
Until all three conditions are met, you keep your right of withdrawal for 14 days and are entitled to a refund if you withdraw. This section reflects your rights under Dutch and EU consumer law. If you are resident in the United Kingdom or another jurisdiction, equivalent mandatory cooling-off rights under your local law continue to apply and are not reduced by these Terms.

Subject to these Terms and payment of applicable fees, MentoraMed grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Platform for your own, non-commercial exam preparation only. You may not, without our prior written consent: copy, reproduce, distribute, publish, sell, sublicense, or commercially exploit any Content; scrape, harvest, or systematically extract questions or data; share your account or Content with others; reverse-engineer or attempt to derive the source code of the software; or remove or obscure any proprietary notice. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
10. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Platform in any way that is unlawful, infringes the rights of others, or interferes with the operation or security of the Platform. Prohibited conduct includes attempting unauthorised access, uploading malicious code, automated bulk access, and any use that breaches section 9. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of this section.
11. Conformity of Digital Content
MentoraMed supplies digital content that meets applicable statutory conformity requirements. If the digital content does not conform to the agreement, you have the statutory rights to repair (bringing the content into conformity), a proportionate price reduction, or termination. These mandatory consumer rights are not limited or excluded by these Terms.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
MentoraMed makes reasonable efforts to keep the Platform available, accurate, and current, but, to the extent permitted by law and without prejudice to section 11, the Platform and Content are provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from security vulnerabilities, or that Content is complete, current, or error-free at all times.
Diagnostic pass-rate estimates, mastery scores, item-response-theory (IRT) metrics, and similar outputs are indicative self-assessment statistics only. MentoraMed gives no guarantee, express or implied, that using the Platform will result in passing the GDC ORE Part 1 examination or obtaining registration with the General Dental Council. Actual results depend on many factors outside our control. Content is for practice and information only and does not constitute clinical, diagnostic, or professional advice; always follow applicable clinical guidelines (such as SDCEP, GDC, and CGDent standards) and your own professional judgement.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MentoraMed's total liability arising from or in connection with your use of the Platform is limited to the amount you paid in subscription fees in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the liability. MentoraMed is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits, lost opportunity, or exam-related losses.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for intent or deliberate recklessness / gross negligence, or under the mandatory consumer rights referred to in section 11. Where mandatory law (including consumer-protection law of your country of residence) provides you with greater protection, that protection prevails.
14. Force Majeure
MentoraMed is not liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including outages of internet, hosting, or payment providers, power failures, cyberattacks, or loss of licences to exam-syllabus content. In the event of prolonged force majeure, either party may terminate the agreement, with amounts already paid for services not yet delivered refunded on a pro-rata basis.
15. Privacy
MentoraMed processes personal data in accordance with the GDPR and UK GDPR. See our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy for details.
16. Changes to these Terms
MentoraMed may amend these Terms. Material changes will be announced at least 30 days before they take effect, by email or via the Platform. If you do not agree with a material change, you may cancel free of charge before it takes effect; for a running paid Subscription, the amount already paid for the unused period will be refunded pro rata. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the amended Terms.
17. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is void or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force. The parties will replace the affected provision with a valid provision that most closely reflects its original purpose and intent.
18. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of The Netherlands. Disputes will be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent court in the Netherlands. This does not affect any mandatory consumer-protection rights, or the jurisdiction of the courts of your country of residence, that apply to you under the law of the country in which you live (including, for UK-resident consumers, UK consumer law).
Consumers may also submit a dispute via the European Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
